Those Running Denver

May 23, 06:10 PM

Denver has elected a Mayor, and a 13 party coucil to see through the needs and wants and important decisions involved in running this city. The council and Mayor make all the decisions on the budget, to if and when new parks and buildings are to be built. They completely run their own city.

The Police and Crime Stats

Considering Denver is part of the United States, it appears to have a normal amount of crime going on for the city. But the city itself classes the crime rate to be ‘above average’. This is due to the fact that Denver had a whopping 63 murders in 1999 alone, which is a massive amount for any city, let alone one with just over half a million people residing there.

In 1992 to 1995 they had a massive 331 murders, and it is well known to this day that they classed those three years that during which this horrendous crime happened, ‘Summer Violence’.
